HPAY: get your @handle

A @handle gives you a shorter native QUAI payment link, like hartiibiome.com/hpay?to=@you. It is optional: your own link already works from your address. A handle link resolves the name's current on-chain owner when opened; use an address link when the recipient must stay fixed.

You'll need: Pelagus or Blip on Quai Mainnet (chain 9), the registration fee plus separate QUAI for gas, and a browser that can save local safety records and use Web Locks. One wallet registers one handle.

Steps

  1. Open hartiibiome.com/hpay and connect your wallet. Your link shows your link and QR.
  2. If the wallet has no handle, press Get a handle. The registration window opens inside HPAY.
  3. Type 3 to 16 characters: letters, numbers or _. HPAY folds uppercase to lowercase and checks the name on-chain.
  4. Read the cost line. HPAY reads the registration fee from the profile contract. Network gas is separate: the page estimates the exact registration call through its node and supplies an explicit gas limit and gas price. An unavailable or invalid node estimate stops registration; there is no guessed gas fallback.
  5. Press Register @name for ... QUAI. HPAY rechecks the name, contract fee, selected account and chain before the wallet request. Check the name, registry, value and network fee in your wallet, then approve.
  6. Wait for the original transaction to be checked. Success requires its exact payer, registry, registration fee and calldata, a canonical status-1 receipt, and the name owner read at that receipt's block to be your wallet. Then press Use my link to use the shorter link.

If the outcome is uncertain

The registration record is per wallet and per browser origin. Web Locks prevent a second tab from invoking another registration, and the durable record remains when the window closes or the page reloads. A pending or unknown result keeps another registration blocked; closing the window is not cancellation of an invoked transaction.

Use Check original registration. If the wallet returned the original hash, HPAY checks that exact transaction. A canonical status-0 receipt for those same original terms releases the hold: the registration value reverted, though gas may still have been charged, and you can review again. Missing or unrecognized status stays pending. If the wallet returned no usable hash, a matching candidate transaction cannot establish which invocation it was or clear the record. Check the original activity in your wallet and do not blindly register again.

A wallet-method fallback is used only for documented unsupported-method codes, with fresh account/network checks. It never resends after a free-text error that might follow broadcast. A rejected wallet request or a proven node refusal is distinguished from an unknown result. Clearing browser storage or switching domains removes access to that origin's safety record; it does not undo a registration.
